7TE is a 1.7 right ?
#1
Right so the engine in my 205 siezed solid and had no compression so took it out yesterday

And I was sold the car being told it was a 1.7 NA car with a 306 1.9TD engine put in it ( the one I took out cause it seized up )

But on the back of the engine it says 7TE which leads me to believe its the 1.7 na engine but some ones bolted up a turbo too it ?

Anyone clear all this up for me ?

The 1.8 205 engines are xud7te so most likely has had a 1.8 turbo lump put in it

XUD7 is a 1769cc - which rounds to 1.8.

XUD7A was put in 205 NAs.
XUD7TE was put in 205 DTurbos.
XUD9TE was put in 306 DTurbos.

Looks to me like it's had a XUD7TE (turbo) out of a 205 put in.

He'd be wrong then!!!

Take a photo of the manifolds on the back as you've got it out... That's the giveaway if it genuinely is an XUD7TE.

I'd expect it is an XUD7TE since it's much easier to fit... Does it have the pulleys on the side of the cylinder head or does it ha?ve just a single vacuum pump...?

Im not pissed off or anything just curious to how he got confused as i bought it as a non runner that had been sat up for years anyway.
