Sports cat
#1
Has anyone who's fitted one noticed much difference?not sure on how the good the standard cat is on the 6's

Basiclly I have a decat pipe to go with my new manifold, I cannot use the old cat pipe since the new manifold is completely different so I was going to get a universal sports cat welded on but now I'm considering just having the cat cut off the old system and welded onto the decat pipe. so I get the performance benefit of the manifold but retain mot abilities.

thoughts?

I use one on mine because I like to keep the legality! :-) you'll probably find you make more torque with a cat on it.

Keeping the legality is always a plus, i guess on yours which is a bit more finley tuned you would see the bonuses of a sports cat but doubt it would make a difference for me?

After decating mine low down in the revs there really nothing but obviously further up the rev range it pulls harder

lol
When we took rowells car for mapping, there was a MG/Rover 75 there on the rollers. It revved to 9k in the end. Was going to take a video and send it to Steve to say this is what a Rover should be like lol

Yes, I've got a sports cat on my car (not sure what cell) and made a big difference. Kept the low down torque you loose with a decay but had much more get up and go and just felt less asthmatic

It currently revs to 7200 , been looking into mapping though and edited a file to 7450 just need to checksum and upload

Grant...I don't get it?
9 grand! Must have had some work, the hydraulic tappets in these apparently do not like going.over 7.5-8k. Any idea what engine was in it?
So the concensus is keeps low end torque but helps top end breathing against a standard cat then?
