Hi all,
im new here so please be kind! lol
I have 205 (not 306 i know) which is stripped out and i was looking for a donor engine, ive found a 306 with a xud lump in it which i will be breaking for the engine and box ect.
It also has a 11mm transit bosch pump which the previous owner bough and never did anything with
Ive been reading through the forum and hope ive found the right answers, but i thought i would ask anyway.
The main questions i have are
1, can i use the 306 box by swapping the diff for a 205 one?
2, Do i need a 9mm bosch pump too, to be able to swap the 11mm head over and to be able to do the gov mod too (using the transit bits)
3, What turbos can be used with good results, i have a garrett gt17 or a gt25 (not 100% sure i need to check numbers) from a b205 saab engine (which i was going to fit to start with), im also going to gearbox mount which ever turbo is recommended to use
sorry for all the questions
im going to start a build thread once i start taking pics ect to back up what i post
thanks all
4,
Here is a couple of pics or how it stands at the moment
My plans are to find some non reclining bucket seats for it as it has impreza seats at the moment (which i dont like), im also going to find or make a roll cage too, there are mounts welded in but was sold by the previous owner.

Im using a gt17 saab turbo on mine,
Spools around 2.25/2.5k rpm
And pulls through quite hard due to the large hotside
Id say good for 150/175bhp on the right setup

Ive been struggling to get on with anything this week due to a 8 day headache and where i had my car stored, at a friends workshop has been a slight issue as he has been getting his car ready for a few upcoming shows
So slight development.....ive moved my car and now have access to it as and when i want to.
So tonights plan is to go and remove the rest of the stickers, glue the arches back on (removed by previous owner)
also i will remove the glue or any marks left by the stickers, then its time for a machine polish to see what the paints like.

he'll only be using the 11mm head from it so won't make a difference
oh and nice start for a build!
you'll need a standard bosch pump to put the 11mm head into
vnt turbo really is the way forward on these things, and you may not need to gearbox mount unless it won't fit behind the engine. gt2052v would be ideal really. or a nice gt2256v if you're coming over the gearbox.

Nope im looking to get a 9mm pump set up, then do an 11mm conversion using the bits i need from the pump, the only electrical part of the pump is the stop solenoid that i can see (not the greatest pic i know - sorry guys)
I only want to gearbox mount so i can future proof it with regards trying different turbos or the ability to swap them easily too

If this is the case im sure that pump is wrong. Dont hold me to it though. Someone more experienced might be able to confirm?

so quick little update.....
as said before the cars been moved as i couldnt get to do jobs as my mate was respraying his nova......well.......
he didnt cover mine up!
no prizes to guess what colour his car is!
but ive cleaned it off and i just need to claybar the rest of the paint up then it shouldnt be as bad.
I got the rear arches back on too and the rest of the stickers removed and the horrible glue removed too.
im starting to feel like im getting somewhere now as i can get access to the car as i like
im leaving the front arches off untill the engines in and the front is built back up
ive also messaged a member about a 9mm set up so fingers crossed its still available
the guy im getting the donor car off has had issues getting his 106gti ready for the modified nationals show this weekend (not for me)
so im not getting it untill sometime next week now, but it gives me time to tart a few bits up in the mean time
OH nearly forgot......
1x Wheel down, 3x to go

My best mate owns his own decal company, so they might be off back on soon anyway! i only really took them off to refit the arches as there was a trim mark where the decals had been cut.
I did quite like it too with them on if im honest lol

Quick update from my bank holiday....
I found some non-reclining cobra monaco seats for sale for £50 so they were very quickly bought
I had to sew a couple of splits up that made them look a little scruffy....
before...
after...
I also picked up a 9mm pump/injectors and lines from chris_90..... great guy to deal with!
and i picked up a xantia inlet manifold from danny too
which ive shot blasted off and sprayed up too
whilst i had time today ive started to referb the plastics including the bumpers and the wing mirrors
couple more pics to follow but off my tea now!!
