Hey guys I've just had a look for the paint code for my car and found it to be KMP, which I google searched and it said something about Rhodes Blue.

Is this an unusual colour?

Haha fair enough, I like it to be honest. Has a really nice dark tinge to it. I'm after a phase 3 rear bumper but I don't know if I can get it in this colour

Yeah it has a rip in it, does the phase 3 also have the exhaust cut out? Because mine doesn't have the cut out as it's phase 2

it's not a phase related thing the bumper cutout, it's spec related, the sportier models get the cutout, gti6, xsi, xs, Dturbo . . .

Ah okay I'll look out for one then as I want a different exhaust just not sure what to do. As in to just get the rear pipe or get a new system with a GTI6 manifold

All the phase 3s have the bumper cutout. But you're right for ph1 and 2.

Not quite, Rhodes is just metallic, China is Pearlescent. I've only seen Rhodes on a phase 2 but that's not to say there aren't any in ph3.

Noooo... They're the same colour. BUT Rhodes is just metallic, whereas China is pearlescent and has a sort of purple flec to it, very noticeable in the sun.

I'm not sure how noticeable it would be putting china bumpers on with the different paint finish. A door or flat panel would be noticeable but I reckon you'd get away with a bumper...
This is China, for reference.

Lol, close enough! You might be thinking of Delft, I believe Delft and Rhodes are exactly the same paint code, but not 100% sure on that.

Yeah I have full colour coded bumpers without the cut out and they are phase 2, I kinda want the cut out so I can have an exhaust that is poking out rather than hidden

I’ve got Rhodes Blue (KMP) too; I think it’s a nice colour. I would say it’s quite a rare colour - 18 months ago the front end of mine was damaged so I had to look for Rhodes Blue panels and I can say in my experience it is very difficult! In fact my car still has mismatched panel colours now as even when I’ve found the correct colour replacements they are in poor condition (I managed to get a bonnet, bumper and grill but had to travel quite a long way and I decided not to fit the bumper as it’s not in great condition). As far as I can tell, the colour was only on phase 2 models on an S or T plate and Meridian models….I am yet to find a phase 3 Rhodes Blue. China Blue is noticeably different when I had a China grill and Rhodes bonnet (and Nile bumper :p )

So yeah, what I’m saying is if you want a replacement, don’t be tempted to get China and don’t expect to find one rapidly unless you’re lucky!

I did a college course in spraying so if I have to I could just get a bumper I like and respray it with a colour match. That may be my best option

So yeah, what I’m saying is if you want a replacement, don’t be tempted to get China and don’t expect to find one rapidly unless you’re lucky!
I did a college course in spraying so if I have to I could just get a bumper I like and respray it with a colour match. That may be my best option
I would say that's your best bet. Yeah I want a cut out bumper for mine to put a nice rolled tip exhaust on or something. Instead on the standard downward facing back box

Yeah that's what I want, I hate the downward pipe. Just need to find out what a good back box is

I have a dturbo so one up side to the downward back box it the soot blows down and sticks to the road instead of covering the back of the car.
