So...Looks Like I Need A New Clutch Too!
#1
Pretty sure the clutch on the HDi is on its last legs, and was going to replace with a Valeo or equivalent. Just want to make sure a standard clutch will be OK for a stage 1, if I decided to go that route?

I understand any further than a stage 1 (i.e. stage 2) will require something heavy duty? Just looked at Sachs and I think I'll give that stage a miss judging by the cost of their kit!

Found out why my clutch is graunchy (is this a word?) too, the clutch arm plastic bearings are seriously shagged (left to right movement!). So once the cambelt is done, looks like the box will be coming off for clutch/bearings and new passenger CV boot.

So yeah full stage 2 needs a stronger clutch as the torque is too much for the standard one. You cab showever get a limited torque stage 2 that you should be able to run on a new standard clutch. Should be 155hp.

Some people have also done a gti6 clutch conversion which I think is a great idea but I have no idea how you'd do it.

for stage 2 full torque CG Paddle is a good shout.

stage 1 and stage 2 limited torque an OEM replacement will do. Smile

Does the gti 6 conversion just need the clutch plate or cable and sensors
