Whats happened here?

Some of you are aware of the little smash I had in the car, just getting round to repairing the damage

This is what it looks like



Fair to say the other car involved (Merc E-class) looked much worse off haha

When it happened there was a silver tab sticking out from the bumper under the badge/grille? This 'popped' back in but theres still an unsightly gap that you can see between the grille and the bumper 'shelf'

Wondering how to get this to pop back in tightly? I can't remember what it was like before the smash and I had been messing trying to get the grille out but couldn't? So is it the grille that is out of place instead?

The tab is back where it should be now, just smacked it back in straight after!

You can see the gap (sort of) increasing in size from being flush on the hockey stick, then getting wider across the width as it goes toward the badge

Also note the gap between lower bumper grille and foglight, this wasn't there before

Leads me to believe the bumper hasnt cracked but has warped?
