Front Door Check Strap

The front Door Check Strap come of when messing with the door. But no problem the door card of etc.

But I cant get the front door check strap back in place. I can get it back in but there a bit inside which moves closer to the outside door part and god knows were it goes.

I know the way the check strap goes in and can see the groves etc. But on the on the inside of the door there one part which moves around to were and how.

I managed to do it in the end by taking the door check mech from the door. Then taken the pin out of one of the rollers. then put the strap back in place then roller with pin. Then fitted back in the door then haha.

I did it by putting it in a vice and hitting it back into place with a hammer, also worked
