Twin optic headlight stalk

I've got phase 3 crystals in my phase 2 306 but only have high or low beam instead of the high and low beam or just low in the phase 3. I know I need a twin optic stalk but there are only 2 phase 3's in my local scrap yard one doesn't have the stalk and one has snapped. Could I use the snapped one as long as the electrics are intact and just make one using my original one.
Or would a 206 headlight stalk work off one with crystals or a 406 and so on as long as there a twin optic light.
