going to put a new rad in my 1.4 306 2000 meridian . how much coolant does the system hold ?

Fill up the engine coolent run it when and then when it drains top it up thats what iwud do personally but dont hole me to it

It says in the haynes but I don't have one to hand, seem to remember its 6.5 litres though.

Plus you'll lose a bit through spillage and bleeding....

6.5 sounds a bit much. Sure the XUs are only 4.5?!

Right - from the Haynes capacities list, page 1A.2.

Cooling system:

1.1 and 1.4 - 6.5 litres
1.6 - 7 litres
1.8 and 2.0 - 7.5 litres


And no wonder the diesels take so long to warm up, no need for so much coolant in there tbh! Confused

1.8 and 1.9 XUD - 9 litres
1.9 DW engine - 8.2 litres
2.0 (HDi) - 8.5 litres
