Has anyone used this shit before?
Just come home from work and ive got a gash (giggedy) in my side wall. Doubt its meant for "gashes" I thought it was for small holes like a nail or something

Think ive done it on some metal turnings at work. Proper f*cked off the tryes have only been on a couple of months. Just need to get it to a tyre place, dont fancy calling a mobile place cos they charge the earth!

If it's damage to the sidewall, especially any bigger than a nail, it'll do naff all... Well, except cost you money (speaking from experience)

Tyre weld as said is garbage. I used it on a nail hole (small nail from them plastic wire hooks) and it just sprayed back out the hole. All up the paintwork and that is not easy stuff to remove!

Yeah ive got a spare but I havent got the tapered seat bolts for the 'astard! Lol And no kent still ringing round places. If its the original standard steel they're made for cyclone/swallow bolts afaik!

Personally, I'd never try repair anything thats damaged the wall of a tyre.

you can't repair the sidewall safely afaik . . . . sorry . .:p

As above tyre weld wont touch it because of the size and location.
It really is amazing stuff if youve had a small puncture in the main tread of the tyre. It fills the hole, sets solid and after 10 miles you just stop and make sure its correctly inflated and then can go for a good couple hundred miles at least. When you get the tyre changed they just wash the rest of the stuff out with hot soapy water. Its super easy and i always keep a can of it in the car these days. Its saved me the effort of changing a wheel about 3 times now, big effort when you dont have a spare lol.

No damage to the sidewall is repairable! U/S tyre. I hadnewtyres put on mine, drove down to krisb's and hit a puddle of water, little did i no it was 6 foot deep and blew the sidewall on my brand new tyre. So pissed that day!

I've used it a few times and it's always worked but I doubt it'd fix a gash mate. It is a bastard to get off as well, I had one burst on my 106 after a bit of heavy cornering sent my jack rolling across the boot into it, needed a new boot carpet!

Didnt want to risk it so took it off and carried it a mile and a half to the tyre place.
