Hi everybody, I'm in Lancashire England,
I am looking for advice, the ABS ring on a rear drum has destroyed it's self, all I need is a reluctor ring, Dealers want to sell me a new drum + bearing for around £180 they say the ring is not available on it's own????. (Drum and bearing are a complete unit) All I need is a ABS reluctor ring) The ring has an inside diameter of 69mm and 29 slots. I would not be adverse to fitting a secondhand drum (203 inside diameter) if anybody knows where to get one. Any help would be greatly recieved. Thanks

Hi, thanks for the welcome and reply,
Can't get there this weekend could next, a quick check if it's abs, is the sensor lead goes through the back plate. Its the type that the drum and bearing are all one. Its driving me mad! I'm not tight but £180 to put a light out!!!!!

		removing the bulb is cheaper
there are 2 sizes of drum too just to make it more fun, looking from the wheel face of the drum do the top edges curve away from you or is it a fairly sharp corner? I know the one off my car doesn't there is no ABS cable on either of them but the other one I have with the smaller drums has holes in the back plates which have gromets in so I presume that the cable would have gone through there?! I will have to pull them apart and look won't I

Hi, thanks again for your trouble,
The drum is relatively square, inside diameter is 203mm, the outer measurement is approx 230mm (9 inches), if the back plate has grommets in place the chances are there is no Abs fitted, the only chance is if someone has fitted an ABS drum, The drums are the same apart from the reluctor ring.

 Thanks again.

Hey, Just had a look at your photo stream
Great pics, used to do a bit myself when you had to develop the film??? (Showing age, not quite the box brownie though). Well done, look forward to seeing more.

 Cheers

I will have a proper look later on getting one from a local scrap yard will probably be your best bet I would think!

		Hi,
I have systematically called all the scrap yards within a 25mile radius! At this rate the phone bill is going to cost more than the part, thanks for trying. Will have a look at the photo link later. Cheers

Ha, Ha, Just been quoted £247 for a second hand drum by 247 spares!!!!!! I have found a firm in Lincoln that are making me a reluctor ring for £35 (xmol.com). It will be in the post tomorrow, so hopefully by weekend it will be sorted. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks for your help
