roof rack bolt size?

Hi all, I finally got hold of a peugeot roof rack for my 5 door 306, but I cannot find what size or type of bolt I need to fit 'em on.
I've read through umpteen posts and read 8m, 10m, countersunk and hexagon, no idea how long they should be and I cant find any roof rack info on service box either, aaaargh  

impeccable 306oc advice greatly appreciated pleeeeese.

About 20mm length. M8. 13mm head usually but you'll want as flat a head as possible or hex domed head for nice rubber trim fitment

my rack kit came with domed pisidrive screws.
