so as title. what job do the people that have met me see me in. my new job as a mechanic is unfortunately not working out at all. Its time for me to leave the trade and keep the skills ive aquired for my peugeots. ideas? suggestions? prefrablly not porn

I need a 8-5 9-6 sort of thing to keep things running right with the family. On call isnt an option due to child care issues if not there are loads of jobs good idea though

No more tools. Honestly had it. Maybe something light but no mechanics. Unfortunatly my back doesnt like me as well which makes it harder. Im already known as the peugeot specialist round here lol

No worries mate, your lot like me. Perfectly friendly to customers and co workers but would rather work on your own most of the time. If I wasn't in my current job I'd be looking to be a tree surgeon.

Hate it now and wish I learned something else.
Been doing some chippy work recently and have enjoyed it. Maybe a change of role in the same sort of environment may help, it has for me.

My typical shift was 7.30-4 but IIRC AG shifts were on paper between 7AM and 7PM. I never had a 7PM finish in 6 months I was there.

I do indeed build computers in my spare time and play with little programming bits. Would be a great job but all require bits of paper saying i can.

Need a 9-5 self employed not an option i have a family to provide for. I cant just start a business and hope for the best without enough saving to keep me a float for a few months incase it goes south

Me and Niall both work for the same company, field based so on your own but also in contact with development managers and other engineers by phone or onsite.

9-5 also 1 in every 5 weeks on call (but not compulsory as can always ask someone else to do it instead).

Building pc's is handy as you know components and 12v circuits well.

No previous experience required, all training courses will be given to you (no expense to yourself)

Company car can be used for personal use and if anything happens you'll get a hire car, more time to work on the pug off the road if needs be

Service engineer. I was workshop based for a utility plant hire place but im now field based doing tensile testing machines. The field role probably wont suit a family man (im in luton all this week and was in IOW last week) but the role is generally the same as my old one. Doing calibrations, servicing and fault finding on hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical/electrical systems. I have no qualifications just general knowledge and enthusiasm and ive got on fine so far

Other than that .... mech fitter jobs are easy money for someone like yourself. I was breifly building aircraft refuelers and nitrate filtration systems between my service engineer roles. Its just like playing with big lego sets so if you know your way around technical/engineering drawings and schematics youll get >£14/hr job no worries

so ive managed to get myself 4 interviews which i guess is good. 2 for eurocar parts and one for service adviosr at a dealership. another for a hydraulics place

So to keep this updated got a job as a service advisor in vauxhall bury st edmunds. Close enough to cars that my experience counted for something. Far enough that i dont have to actually work on them. Thank you for all your help and suggestions. Wasnt feeling great with my current situation
