		Hey,
So, I recently changed out the radio in my 1.4 306. It required a harness like new radios do.

However, the little lever on the right of the console is now nonfunctional. Has anyone any experience of getting it to work?

 Cheers.

		Nope.
Short and sweet answer sorry but if you have fitted a Sony HU then you might be able to get a stick that you can fit that controls a sony. Mate of mine managed to get one but i can't find one on ebay or amazon for you... Good luck though

Most decent head unit manufacturers require an additional bit of loom to get the steering remote to work. An audio specialist like car audio security will be able to help

Yeah you need a interface adaptor, and they are specific to the make of new headunit you have just fitted, they are about 20 quid depending where you get them. I got mine off ebay iirc.

An important thing to note is whether your stereo is compatible with a stalk remote.
I bought a jvc harness off Tom only to find out mine wasn't

Mine works Used a connects2 lead. you need a 206 one iirc as it has the 6 way control rather than the one listed for the 306 which has 4 way control (ph3 306 has 6 way control)

No a 206 connects 2 lead, the lever is the same as a 306

Same,  I robbed a stalk from a 406 as an experiment, and it has a rotary function for adjusting something... that is the 5+6th ways.
But not needed on my 306, I rewired the rotary controller to act as the volume adjust though as  I didn't like the stalk up+down for the volume, too inaccurate on the worn contacts.

the 4 way do volume up, volume down and track forward, track backward. The 6 way allows you to skip ahead in the track by holding the stalk in the track change position, also works backwards. The extra two functions are seeking within a track basically.
The 6 way stalk looks identical to the 4 way one, its not like a 406 one or later 206 etc

The 6 way I have has a rotary section you twist, came from an early 406, looks identical to the 306, I think it's just later 406/206 that have the chunkier CANBUS style stalk. I plan to mod one of the CANBUS ones to work though as the stalk design is much more solid and useful than pushing the floppy 306 stalk around    Just need to solder some micro switches into it's body.
