Yeah, it ruined his tyres as they caught on the plate IIRC.

Seriously, if you're going track spec and putting buckets in, fit a half cage as a minimum. Otherwise, fit reclining buckets or s16 seats to hold you in, and use the standard seatbelts.

I used bolts that were too long


They were fine when sorted out. I've had the car supported from a block and tackle, off the garage roof using that harness bar just to prove a point. Nothing budged.

bear in mind that, also, some insurers WONT insure you with a cage fitted (premium choice being one)

just remember the impact weight in an accident can be many-many times the weight of a car suspended
and it will rip bolts through steal like a knife through butter

get it done properly or dont bother your life and your passengers depends on it
