2 nights ago I officially became a 106gti owner and this is the very nice little number I picked up
It's a 2000 reg gti with 84k on the clock , lowered 40mm , colour coded bumpers , hrs alloys with toyo r1 tyres , upgraded brakes (206 180) , and a 4-1 custom heat wrapped manifold with cosworth cat and pug sport backbox and angel eyes headlights, it also has a quickshift
I wanted something to replace my 205gti while I restore it over the next few years , and all I will say is what a fantastic car a delight once you hit 4000 revs ,
Future plans include , smooth bonnet and grill , rear tints and upgrade cams and remap
Thanks for looking , comments welcome

Looks great. I'd love to have a drive in one, I can only imagine they would drive like a 306 but slightly better due to the weight/size advantage.

So actually being very busy lately and il share some progress
So i picked up a gloss black standard spoiler and fitted it to replace the abit ott other one
Also got a black an yellow boot badge to swap for the old one
Picked up set of cyclones aswel , quite funny young lad wanted £100 for his (properly painted high gloss black) but got them for £70 due to being rattle canned all day long with terrible prep this is how i got them
I didnt take any super close pics but you can see there rattle canned anyway i cracked on with them
Sanded them all down with virtually zero black remaining
Primered , flatted and ready to paint
And painted
And a few cheeky close ups of what i call a high gloss nice finish
Just need to swap tyres over and a light flat and buff and they can go on
Also picked up a bumper and bonnet to smooth
This is how i picked up the bumper it had being rattle canned matt black
Sanded it down
Cut some ridges in the edge of the badge groove an fibreglassed it , this will stop it cracking easily and give it abit more strength
Filling
Primered
And thats where we are at atm

I loved my 106 GTI, as said, not much else feels as much fun after one of these. I'd get rid of the colour coding and angel eyes but otherwise it's a cracker!

Can't believe I have only just seen this.
I have a massive soft spot for nana 106 Gti's. This looks a stunning example too.
Great work how are you going to match the new paint on the bumper to the original?

I love everything apart from the angel eyes....
Think standard Peugeot lights with black masks and the angel crystal lenses would look great though
