Gti6 lowering springs/coilovers

Hi, I'm looking for a set of front gti6 lowering springs or coilovers.
Only need the front as I'm still on a standard dturbo rear beam. What have people got? Cheers

If you have a 1.9 dturbo engine in your car you dont want gti lowering springs as it wont actually lower due to the XUD being lighter than the gti

You can use gti shocks though if you go for springs

But surely the gti 6 front suspension is different to that of a dturbo, so dturbo springs won't fit?

No its all the same sizes/fittings . Just different weight rateings.

So for example you want gti shocks with 1.9xud lowering springs. And it will all fit together

aright okay, im sure ive already got gti shocks on it considering its a full front end gti6 job, brakes and suspension, would a set of dtrubo coilovers fit on it aswell?

I put 40mm in my dturbo and I think it didnt look much different. Now got 60mm with 7.5j 15 pro race and no scrubbing on nasty corrnish roads.lol

is that 40mm on the back aswell, that looks about how low mine is at the mo on the front. well im gonna try and get hold of a front splitter tomorrow and after thats fitted, see how much clearance ive got.

For 60mm Gmaxx are used ALOT by 306 owners and iv never heard any bad feed back. for 40mm id say spax/PI iv personaly usd spax springs in the past and they were ok

On a completely different subject, was thinking of painting my calipers and drums but unsure what colour would suit the colour of my car, was thinking common red or a nice metallic black. Thoughts?

I had the same forts as you with the car being to low and scrubbing as I live in the country side. I had some springs that were meant to be 40mm but they only lowered it about 25mm. I have now got some 60mm that seem to have lowered the front about 50mm and I think there near perfect for looks and I haven't had any ground clearance issues.

As for painting calipers and drums in my opinion you can never go wrong with red. I dunno what paint you plan on using but I always use hammerite and have never had any problems

Aright, will probs go for around 50-60mm then. Yeah ive always liked the look of red callipers, but was unsure if it would match the colour if my car (nile blue). And yeah just some heat roof paint from halfords or as you said Hammerite.
