WIW Accident damaged HDI 60K miles
#1
My 51 plate 2.0 hdi meridian estate was written off last week by a silly old twat driving straight into it. An assesor has obviously written it off as it has major front end damage however it was very clean and has only covered 61000 miles from new and i had just completed a full service inc all filters, cambelt and water pump change with Gates power-grip belt and a Stage 1 Remap. Also has service history on and off from new.

The car has 21mm torsion bars, gti shocks with spax springs, cyclone wheels with nearky new tyres all round and the standard leaf pattern half leather interior.

It would be a shame to scrap it as it is so would rather someone made good use of the engine and box etc at least but what is it worth??

Car is located in Crowborough east sussex but is not drivable.

i have to state a price so will say £250 to start but it may change.

Anyone interested? pics to follow

Im a peugeot citroen mechanic and have access to the workshop at weekends so breaking it is an option but its just more time.

Beam is good no camber but bars are siezed in. was planning on removing it this weekend fitting new beam mounts and heating the bars with some oxy to remove them so i could drop the rear.
Depends what the beam is worth as i wanna upgrade my bars in the 6 to 21 or 23mm again now it has a brand new axle on.

Ouch!! What was it that hit you, must have been something quite big for it to have bent the leg down like that!

Defo not worth repairing unless someone owns a jig themselves.

Would be interested in the tow bar for the right price.

Renault laguna but he pulled straight across infront of me didnt even have time to stamp on the brakes. his his n/s front wheel hard at 30mph.

Still got sore neck/ back now nearly a week later... should be getting a payout for that but still annoying.... more to the point id just got the car a bit more how i want it, done all the suspension with bilstein b6's made black masks, done engine mounts and cam belt etc remap, sorted all the sound system.... then bang and its back to square one....

If you break it bud I put dibs on the boot badge, trim above numberplate around lock, rear lights, and rear bumper.

In fact sod just the trim and badge I'll take the whole boot lid if you break it, it's in well better nick than mine anyway.

Be a good buy for someone with an estate change colour on logbook and swap plates and vin for cheap tax, then break. Actually how much for chassis if you strip it?

What would you pay as a whole with the service history and book etc? would save me a lot of hassle but less money obviously. Drop me a pm.

Just the bare shell? No idea what ever its worth in scrap value round here really probs 150 as a whole car so 100 shell maybe. dont really see how youd swap the plates and vin as it will be cat c (i imagine) written off so would need a vic check on said vehicle anyway.

If I get another 306 the b6 rears will be going on it otherwise they will be or sale.
Thinking about getting a Golf tdi or Leon tdi instead as I fancy a change but have my eye on a couple if 306 estates at the minute as well.

Their paying me out £1500 or the car initially but this is meant to be going up a few hundred quid after some haggling and meant to be covered like for like for mods on the vehicle as well.

If I dot get another 306 I have various spares and sets of wheels and a set of GTI front brakes which I'll be selling as well.

Any news bud? Are you breaking it or have you sold it as a whole? Still interested in the lights, boot, & bumper if you break it.

Sorry the insurance company are reviewing the payout they've given me on the car so its due to be dropped back to me tomorrow at my work.

First thing I wanna do is remove the front panel and sort out the wiring to the starter motor as the engine cut out on the impact and now the starter won't crank at all.

I've checked the inertia cut off switch and seems fine but the wiring from the positive battery terminal is touching the front slam panel so has more than likely popped a major fuse.

No one has made me an offer on the car as a whole as yet so I imagine I'll be breaking it. I I get another estate I'll want the rear lights as I've only just sprayed and tinted them but I'm more looking for a Leon Cupra FR tdi as I fancy a change.

I anyone wants to buy the car whole then speak up now as I'll start takin bits off it soon. More than likely next week.

Sorry for delay chaps but I've finally found time to get on with this and it is now gonna be broken.

Not sure exactly what the engine is worth, can be heard running, start on the button, has some service history just had a full service with 5/40 fully synthetic Morris lubricants oil, new diesel filter (purflux) new Gates Powergrip cam belt, with new roller and tensioner, new water pump and coolant change, new crank pulley, and new aux belt and aux belt tensioner pulley.

Will come with ecu, immobiliser ecu and transponder chip with stage 1 remap
I'm thinking £250 for everything and I'll take it out for you?

Doors and panels £30 each,
Tow bar, £30 (think dum dum wants this?)

Half leather leaf pattern interior not in the best condition £30 for the lot

Rear axle SOLD

Rear brake callipers with nice free bleed nipples £40

Front lowering springs provs SOLD

Phase 3 hdi dash clocks showing only 61000 miles £25

Silver dash panels £20 full set inc air vents and clocks surround (not perfect but not terrible)

Phase 3 Gti-6 leather 3 spoke steering wheel in very good condition £20

Any other bits drop me a PM

ALL PRICES ARE COLLECTED FROM TN6 AREA

I will be traveling up to Leeds over Christmas so can drop things off on the way if needed.
Pete.

Also forgot smoked and top blacked out rear lights (all done to a very high standard and even finish) £25
Will include both the rear fog units out the bumper for free with this which are also smoked but both are cracked round the edges (doesn't notice when on the car)

Gearbox steel end plate is slightly bent so is weeping oil currently otherwise the box is perfect had recent oil change with Total oil.
£40 collected

Front wiper motor good working order £20 collected
Rear one £10 collected

Many other parts available.

I also will have a full set of cyclones as I already have 2 spare plus these four.

All 4 electric window regulators work perfectly so does everything on the car etc etc.

Cyclones will be available when I've taken the engine out as it won't need to be a rolling shell then.

Rear lights I can post no probs, in the new year as cars at work and we've just finished till 3rd jan. Though I am popping down to work to do a few bits and bobs on a few cars just after Christmas.

boot badge isn't in very good condition though it looks it in the pics I'll have a look at the other bit later.
