rear brembos......sizes?

hey i dug around for a fair amount of time, found loads of info regarding brakes etc. i have brembos all round when i got the car, and i know i need xnatia v6 288mm disc yardy yardy yardy....... but what about the rear? are they standard sizes? anyone know?

Take a photo of the rears and post it up.

I have heard of people fitting bigger brakes on the rear.

IIRC the rear calliper mounting points are identical to the fronts so any calipers you can get on the front, you can get on the back. Issue is a) you loose your hand brake and b) The disc offset is different.

You could fit a hydraulic handbrake to overcome that issue (would be pretty epic for puglove is mcdonnalds) but that will never pass a MOT. A Handbrake has to be on a separate mechanical circuit incase of failure of the normal brakes.

Brembo do make rear brakes for alot of cars though so worth looking into!

Have you just fitted 4 pot brembos then from a 406?

Edit: You know what, i could be wrong about the whole handbrake thing. Ive just looked on ebay for brembo rear callipers and none of them have a mechanism for handbrake cables. Unless all the cars ive seen use twin callipers on the rear like astons.

on a closer look i think as the piston isn't red that the previous person has used brembo carrier and standard piston what u recon?

Or could be fake either way looking the actual piston i dont recon they are brembo but could be painted carriers and a sticker maybe? But cant see a sticker staying on lol

Yea mate, just standard rear disc and caliper.

Disc looks the same size as normal.

And here I was expecting some exotic brake conversion.
Makes life easier for you though mate, and for the next time you need to verify genuine brembo, they have the logo stamped on the back of the calipers
