would the campsites not have showers?

Two options:

1. If we see a nice lake, we could go for a quick swim.

2. The campsites where we will be staying should provide us with lots of the 'basic' amenities.

I can't imagine many campsites these days not having showers. Especially ones near the ring that are I imagine regularly used, some campsites in Europe even have wifi!
