Intermitant screatch/scream

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help, ive recently been getting a screatch/ scream like sound mid range - mid boost,

Now my general thinking is if turbo was on way it would do it throughout boost.... right?

other possibilities im thinking could be slight boost leak maybe nicked pipe or cracked plastic boost pipe (off 406)

or maybe a pulley or something

any ideas

Alternator belt ??

hmm could be never though of simple things, and had powersterring pump spring a leak few month ago could have something to do with it will check when have chance

Maywell just be fluid getting underneath the belt and making it slip a little

It might be a certain animal in a certain gasket trying to escape.

Have you checked?

I've got a few of these noises on the hdi!

1. Slipping belt, despite being a new belt and tensioner
2. Clutch release bearing (more of a squeal)
3. Clutch plate slipping on boost


I'd go with a slippy belt for yours....seems common on 306s

cheers tom i think you may be correct as last few days have started her up and its been squeeling like fook, only other thing could be power steering pump as its been ran dry for 6 months as hose was bolloxed and we changed it last month along with subframe and all new bushes and wishbones etc but had them go in past and the grind rather than screatch will check tension on belt today at some point
