I'm not sure if they all have alarms. My ph1 d turbo doesn't so that doesn't flash the indicators but my S16 does

Ah right. I fort that if they don't have the red light inside they don't have an alarm. Might be different in the ph2s

I don't think ph2's have any logic, its a french car
little box on passenger side behind the fog light, and an extra horn I guess is part of it too?

Mine used to all the time on the sedan!
There should be a button on the steering column iirc looks a bit like
•)))

Think it arms on the deadlock iirc and there's a key hole under the bonnet near the N/S headlight (may have a rubber cap on) that activates/deactivates it.

yup defenitely got that switch/button on the steering column, think they're used for resetting or similar that right?

will have a look under the bonnet for the lock, may have been faulty in the past so just turned off rather than fixed, so another thing to try and fix, or strip off and throw in the bin ....

Yeah something like that, think its something to do with the motion sensors tbh, like if you've left a dog in or something??

You'll see it it's either on the slam panel or on the wing, can't remember tbh!
They are all a bit temperamental tbh, like I said my sedan was always going off!

it should always flash repeatedly on unlocking with the fob and flash once on locking. They dont flash if you use the key in the barrel and this also doesnt set the alarm. alarm sets straight away on locking with the fob.

can't see a key hole anywhere just been out to have a look, is a rubber button like thing behind the battery, opped the cover off no key hole, and nothing else obvius around?!

no flashing lighst anytime, always lock it on the fob it just locks and then dead locks but no flashing indicators?!

think I'll have to have a better look in the light see what I can see, must be disabled somewhere

only thing I'm not sure what it is is button type thing behind the ecu, sounds just like you described but no key inside, checked in the ecu box and everything, nothing confused ...

My ph1 had the alarm with the key behind the passenger headlight, sensors in the A pillars and the button on the steering column shroud.
The Haynes manual says the button can be used to turn the sensors on the A pillars on or off.

My Ph2 Dtub is always locked and unlocked off the key and the lights don't flash, oh I also don't have the little red flashing led on the center vent surround.

When I phoned up for insurance when I bought the car the insurance company asked me if it had an alarm and then they said oh hang on its thatcham cat2 from the factory so I'm like ok if you say so.

yes the button can be used to turn the sensors on the A pillars on or off. this is incase you want to leave ur dog exc in the car while you lock it and go in the shop

if you have a defender alarm system your indicators flash off and on and the led flashes on dash. if you just have the immobiliser no flashing anything, strange but true
