How long between colour and lacquer?

So, basically I'm refurbing my steelies, and want to get them done today ideally, sowhat is the minimum advised wait between colour coat and lacquer?

If it helps its metallic paint, and I don't care about flatting it back, they're just winter wheels!

That is contrary to what I have read. I made a similar thread back in .net days and I was advised to wait 30 minutes until the colour coat was dry but 'tacky' and then begin with the lacquer coats. The reason that was given was so that the lacquer would bind with the colour coat. This was said to stop the lacquer from peeling off.

I'd wait a day mate, and put the wheels near a radiator. They'll dry and harden faster, and there'll be less moisture in the air to get into the paint

Whenever i paint anything i wait about an hour and i use a heat gun.

Well I didn't have time for all this shit, so just went ahead and sprayed 'em after like 20 mins or so, we'll see how it turns out. They're now in a nice warm room hardening, and stinking the house out lol.

Well I took one snap on my phone, on my quite steep driveway :p Excuse the dirty car!



They battered the rims when they fitted them though, considering running a hammerite pinstripe around the edge, but can decide whether to just go black, or add some colour, hmmmm
