Just ordered myself one of these: http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acat...llons.html
Been wanting to try this again for a while. I've told a couple of my mates about this way of making epic amounts of cheap beer, and they're willing to be my lab rats (because they've never had the shits from mouldy homebrew before ), so I'll report back in about 4 weeks

I've made up a 'vodka' of sorts.

Take a litre of ethanol, add half a litre of grain vodka, 4 kilos of sugar, kilo of black berrys and half a kilo of unripe elderberries.

Boil and leave uncovered for 3 weeks, scoop off the mould, reboil and bottle. Leave for 2 months then filter.

Smells like dark chocolate, tastes rank. apparently it should be about 80%. Still got half a litre left.

Anyone drinking in mine and Ruans house has a shot. Thems the rules.

Methanhol is the one that causes problems, ethanol is perfectly safe to drink - it's essentially what the ABCV is in any alcohol.

In this brew it's just watered down... with Vodka.

		think its coming along good
the orange on the left has nearly stopped fermenting and is settling quite well
th lemon on the right is still fermenting
this started on the 22/7 today is the 25/7
think I'm going to double brew the orange on Saturday after a %vol reading
and drink the lemon as long as its settled nice

The pet bottles can handle mad amounts of pressure, had a 2L with the first brew in there and kinda forgot about it for a few days came back and the bottle was as hard as concrete and seemed to take forever to vent out

We drank the first batch the other night, this being a bread yeast one . tasted foul , but after a week brewing in the big container and then a week in the pet bottle you could taste the alchohol/feel it. but it tasted so bad people where mixing in vodka to take the taste away so I don't advise bread yeast if you want something for the taste
