That cam will be fine, it's only the bit the drives the vac pump. Might rattle a bit.

Is the ecu a Wayne Schofield mapped one?

Those cams need to be fitted retarded on the stock pistons as they run a lot of lift, make sure you fit them with care.

That's why I went for the 106's rather than the 107's as you can actually make more mid range power and area under the curve due to not having to run the inlet retarded. Just be careful or it will wreck the engine.

Also, if and when you fit bodies... Stagger the trumpets, so much better through the midrange!

I'm getting the pistons pocketed by allanallan on the 6 forum.

I will be doing alot of research before I took the head as don't want this one to end in trars lol

So was it just trial and error when it came to staggering the trumpet length?

You have 2 standard length and 2 longer?

Nope, both custom lengths. Cam lift makes a difference to length too.

lol do you mind telling me the lengths Smile

I plan on getting some jenveys and the adjustable trumpets from emerald then i'll be heading of to see wayne.

Would the map he used on yours work on mine if i had the trumpets the same length?

And did you do any head work to yours?

I will look back at my notes and find out which lengths worked best when I get a chance.

Just very basic headwork last time the head was off, i.e. making sure it was all nice and smooth, matching to gaskets etc. Nothing fancy.

The map he used on mine would only be a basis. Ultimately, the cams you are using are different, as such the volumetric efficiency will be better / worse in different places.

Best bet is to get everything ready to go and take a trip up here. We can fit the bodies at Wayne's workshop before he gets on to mapping, or fit them here at mine - stick it on the trailer and tow it over. The car will not drive on the stock ECU with the bodies on without a base map...

Yeah I thought I try somthing different, got one more track day at combe booked then it off the road for 6 months, got 6 months to save for my bits so hopefully be abit of a weapon for next summer Smile

Was looking at bits last night and think arp headbolts would also be a good idea as the cams will undoubtedly lift the redline.

Also found the bodies I want and the extendable trumpets.

This is exactly what happened too my rallye en route too pugfest lol

I worked out it was because i had mounted it ever so slightly on the piss so the backbox mounting was effectively twisting the exhaust slightly so it had to wear somewhere haha
