the moment you change the engine it is classed as modifeied even if you have just changed it to a diffrent sort in the same car. Insurance companies just dont like it at all. You need to come off main stream insurance and speak to sky, adrian flux, brentcare to name my three i usually ring up. usually flux insure me to be fair.
As for the dvla they will not alter the vehicle to a diffrent spec as it would technically be a clone then. say i bought a lancer, then put all the evo bits on it. Does it make it identical to an evo yes. Is it an evo and demands the same price. No its still a modded lancer
