I see where your coming from Phil, but from the opinion of the law:
-the gun would be left un-attended
-it is not a sensible place to be selling a gun
-they cannot be certain on your ( albeit honest ) intentions
If a gun is to be taken through a public place you need a faesable reason to have it on your person. Ie travelling to/from a shooting club or grounds. Just taking it to a local car meet to sell it (in a shit part of town) could be a bit tricky to hold up in court lol
