Sorry only know a bit about our 306 2l diesel hdi, but look around the forum for similar fault/faults for your model, also the guides section and proper wiring diagrams. The PUG PARTS facility of pug has lots of data as well, exploded views are a great help.

I too have the Haynes manual which is OK, but sometimes very vaugue.
