I did this; the actual space for the bolt narrows and is threadless...
I'll try use a chaser and ram/cut it through, see how that goes
I would be very surprised if the threads don't go all the way through. It's surprising how dirty the threads will get. I had to do it when I fitted hdi brakes on my 205.
