our Govt. is elected by us, and can be booted out by us, if they fail to deliver on their manifesto's, or we grow tired of them.
the EU set-up is markedly different in that the majority of persons 'in charge' don't stand for election on any platform of policies.
Even T Benn (Lab. Chesterfield) called the thing undemocratic.
