as long as its 75w80 non ep oil it should be fine, Peugeot have used esso and shell over the years, just happens that Total has been the longest running supplier, being french and sponsoring most of their motorsport endeavours
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.
