OK I have had a couple of drinks so I will post on this thread 
So if anybody else is worried about getting old .......relax
Passed test exactly 45 years ago 29/4/1971
First car - -- was an Austin A40 Cambridge
Price was........................................ £35
Insurance - no idea but it would have been TPFT - as third party was a lot cheaper than fully comp in those days LOL
If you think the car was cheap - I was earning £3.00 a week as an RAF Apprentice
Austin A40 Cambridge - 1200cc's of pulsating power with a worn out column change and a very handy starting handle LOL
Not my car but same model and colour.
