Think the first thing I'll do this weekend is swap for a known good set of injectors so.

So I lock the crank earlier to check timing. Find the injector pump timing out nearly two teeth

Have you got a Lucas cause I was having the same thing random blue smoke the found my pump was wildly out of time 
I have a Bosch semi ecu. The timing jumped because lack of lack of tension on the belt. I'm very lucky it didn't come off completely.
