my drop links came today, so while I was waiting for my mothers day gift to arrive,
I decided to fit them,
mgf droplinks

mgf ones are smaller the metro gti ones

I had to remove the arb to fit these, as one of the bolts looked like it was going to be a bastard to get off, Took longer to secure the arb back on than it did to swop the droplinks over,
Then I took it for a test drive to see what the crac was, went a long a country road, and it is worlds a part compared to last years car! Very close to the 306 handling. Went into a car park and put a full lock on and did a 360, got a bit of a tripod going on, both sides, but I think I will need slightly stiffer dampers at the front to get a full blown rear wheel lift.
On the way back a driver of a new clio was very impressed, as I had left him standing, him and his mrs was pissing them selves laughing! He said to his mrs, " THATS NO 1.1S! " he was wanting to have a little bit of fun but I just calmed everything down and cruised behind a slow moving car, I made my point anyway. So far we have had a golf gti 14 plater get a shock and now a new clio. Not bad at all for a 24 year old 1.1s!
