Max safe power output of a DW10
#1
Hi guys,

I actually own a 406, not a 306, however there seems to be more knowledge on here with regards to tuning than on the 406oc, so I thought I'd post here to gauge everyone's opinion.

I have a 2001 406 HDi 110 (with factory intercooler). Steve @HDi tuning remapped the car to 140hp/320nm, which was a massive improvement over factory however I still find the car is a little slower than where I want it to be. He has written me another map for me which is 150hp/350nm however I am unsure if this power/torque output will be too much for the factory internals? It's just ticked over 105k miles and has been meticulously maintained, oil changes every 5k miles, regular coolant changes and has the cat hollowed and the EGR blanked. Before I remapped the car first time (5k miles ago), I bought a new OEM intercooler as I thought the old one may no longer be functioning at 100% efficiency and as it's now on 20psi boost I didn't want to cook the air before combustion, I also had the DMF and clutch replaced with genuine LUK parts. With all that in mind, and the fact that the car is pretty much factory bar the EGR and cat hollowing, is 150hp/350nm safe? I don't want to find that the engine is fully worn in 50k miles...

Thanks for any input.

Benjamin
