205/306/405/406 MC's are broadly the same external size - within a few mm anyway - so that likely won't work.
I've been looking into something similar as I was/am considering a 206 GTi-180 engine for my 205, which has the same issues of lack of clearance for the standard MC. Thus I've been looking into finding a shorter option in the correct fitment, which hasn't proved easy but I've found a couple of options.
Mk1 Ford Focus MC is the same fitment and much shorter, but it's 24mm bore so it's going to be a short pedal with anything less than GTi-6 or other similarly large piston'd calipers. From memory, there's 2 x 10mm and 2 x 12mm outlets on them, so just block off the two 12mm ones.
That's what the VAG boys use on 1.8T conversions AFAIK to get around clearance issues.
Some mid-90's Fiat's (eg Mk1 Punto GT Turbo) have a short MC too in the correct fitment, but they seem to be quite hard to get hold of new and I personally have little faith in a 20 year old MC from a scrapyard!
Other option depending how the MC/servo is mounted on a 305 is to tilt the whole servo upwards to give clearance, using a wedge between the pedal box and the bulkhead. That's what some 205 owners do when doing GTi-6 conversions and it might give you enough clearance if it almost fits now, assuming that you can do the same thing on a 305 of course.
