Yeah you'd be fine mate. Most of the time all it takes is open the barrier for company vehicles/people with a pass and any delivery drivers "can you put on a hi vis and sign here" then write down their company and registration number.

99% of security companies don't expect you to put yourself on offer, you ask people to leave and if they don't you call the police.
There is only 2 types of people who will be trespassing, people who will shit a brick when they see you and people who it wouldn't matter if it was Mike Tyson telling them to f*ck off they aren't going to stop so just let them get on with it and call the Police.

In a year of manned guarding I don't think I ever had any sort of confrontation or anyone on my site who shouldn't of been there (or anyone who should of for that matter). The only remotely interesting thing was coming across a "suspect package" one evening while my supervisor was on site. I'd of poked it with a big stick or kicked it or something but he decided to call the police who turned up, kicked it and opened it to show it was just personal property of a worker.

By and large manned guarding is a bums on seats type job which is why its largely minimum wage. You are there as a deterrent. Half the guards barely spoke any English and my company was always getting moaned at because the night shift guards were always found asleep. I got stuck on days so that when the sites bosses came in there was someone polite, awake and English speaking to speak to them.

I love going for a shite at work. Nothing like squeezing out a half pounder and getting paid for it!
