When you say loosing oil, how much we talking here over how many miles?

Well I last checked it properly when I did the oil change which is about 1500 miles ago and I've lost a little over half a liter. It doesn't appear to be leaking out, its a genuine peugeot filter and mobil 10w40 semi synthetic, she doesn't appear to be smoking blue or smoking unduly in any colour for that matter and the dirt on the back doesn't feel oily (like it does with a coaly diesel).
