-As to the resonator bung. This should make the manifold quieter, as the only real purpose was to resonate the air going through it to create noise. Hence the name resonator. The bung quietens the induction noise, but gives some silly small power gain. About 1-1.5 bhp IIRC.
Flat spot in acceleration: I have noticed no larger flat spot in mine that when the plastic 1.8 manifold was fitted. The 16v engines are funny like that in peugeots. Both my 1.8s almost feel like they have 'boost' when you hit 4-5k as the power just increases somewhat. But then that is the purpose of having 16 valves i suppose. No huge flat spot over here though.
Gutted to see the ding though mate... Hope it gets sorted...
just going to get his details card from my glovebox then Im going to call him and ask for an £80 cash settlement! Should be alright... like it was a 11 plate mondeo so £80 and not going to his insurance should be in his best interest!
After all these incidents im taking forever to switch lanes and putting on the indicators a lot earlier... also sticking between 2 and 3k like a pussy but im enjoying the noise a lot! I agree with what you say about boost between 4 and 5 k! It really kicks off and pulls well up to just over 70 in 4th!
