That reasoning won't stand up to a healthy interrogation by physics, Steve. 
Not really pointless, just buy second-hand parts with a mind to refurb before it goes on, sensible practice for any make of car. Steve has effectively got new gaz coilies all round for about £250 by the time he's done, which is still a hell of a lot cheaper tham buying new.
