Living in Norfolk means we've got a million and one B roads, a few A roads & dual carriageways.
I can honestly say I don't speed through villages etc, yes I've had cars overtake me, yes it's annoying, but I really do value my license & the fact it's clean.
I often hit 80mph to pass cars on the dual carriageways, but if I'm sat on a quiet DC, I will stick the cruise on at 70ish and be more than happy.
I've never understood prolific speeders - What's the point? If the speed limit was 80mph intead of 70mph, would you then sit at 90mph? Just to be that bit quicker than everyone else?
I'm with Ruan, having driven between 125 & 150k in the past 5 or so years, I have only ever been stopped by the Police once (3am on the way home from Stansted, in a car I had just purchased from a dealer, so had no reg keeper yet)
I've never even worried about being done for speeding, I just don't get it.
