so this car isn't a million miles away from the gta 16v really
anyway, I did a bit more today, while I had a few mins, also to round off the upgrades.
I decided to modify the parcel shelf, so that it has the locking system that the original parcel shelf had, and get what I found on ebay, a blue parcel shelf like the original that was bust! **** it a I am keeping the one I have!

Anyway moving on,
The early mk1 metros had better external handles than the newer ones, As they were metal and not made of plastic!
( if I known at the time, id have fitted the ones to the gta, but **** it that's dead and recycled now)
during the rebuild, I had to rob a door handle from the GTa, as you will have scene further back, After that I managed to get my hands on some metal replacement ones from the early metro.

I swopped over the plastic clip as that is better and locks the wire in place,


on the car,


feels a lot more stronger and more higher quality of the shitty later one! **** knows why rover decided to cut the cost there, I do not know!

well this one was a laugh, as that just dropped to bits!




the replacement ready to go on,

swopped over the clip too on this one,
and installed it on the car.




I will have to go back to the passenger side and see what has happened there, as its offset. maybe missing a spacer or something.
but there you go progress!
I am going to see about getting the brake hoses fitted too,
