That's a vastly different opinion of quality; Ladas are fundamentally good cars, that's the reason there are still so many around, affordable, serviceable, reliable, and safe as you stated, these factors equal quality. They might not be desirable, but similarly Lada Nivas + Rivas still fetch a good price, they are capable cars, and desirable to some.

They do make good rally cars, bit of sideways action ! if only liam had bought one! he would have been smoking the rears!
