Well, there we go, proven wrong by fact :p

Honestly they're absolutely fine. They point down at the road and give a crisp, well-defined beam. I often follow my boss home from work and check with him that my lights aren't blinding (they were once, so were adjusted the next day)

I have the 'H7R' bulbs for whatever difference that makes, meaning there is no light output from the upper half of the bulb as it has been coated / masked.
