XSi 16v is the 136hp XU10J4R engine
GTi-6 is the 167hp XU10J4RS engine
Whilst in theory the RS is a tuned version of the R, in reality it's easier listing what is the same between them - block, crank, sump and flywheel and a few sensors. Almost everything else is different - head, pistons, cams, valves, valve springs, manifolds, throttle body, injectors, fuel rail, ignition, loom, ECU to name but a few.
The majority of the RS parts can be fitted to an R though, hence it being popular to fit the cams and manifolds and liberate a fair amount of power.
The 1.8 16v (XU7JP4) is again a similar design and many of the top end and bolt-on parts can be moved across - it's alloy block and both smaler bore and lower capacity, and the head has inlet ports that are quite deliberately restrictive.
Earlier S16 is the 2.0 Mi16 (XU10J4) engine which is pretty much an iron block version of the 1.9 Mi16 engine and has little in common with the later engines - head, cams, manifolds, pistons etc all different.
