Weird carry on with starter

I have this EXACT problem seems more prominent on cold mornings, my driveway is a hill so ive had to bump start it then drive back up, turn it off and try start it with the key.

After that initial start, it works fine all day so im assuning its something to do with freezing?

When it does fail sometimes as you have said, when I 'blip' the key repeatedly it will fire and start.
