back when i started muching about with cars i got bought one of the halfords kits, and apart from some bigger sockets for hubnuts etc i was fine until it all got stolen (bar my trusty 1/2 deep socket and halfs 3/8 ratchet + some random stuff i didn't use then and havn't since) i've gone with halfords pro for a lot of stuff, but i've got draper items for spring compressors / hacksaw / angle grinder, Clarke for mains windygun and brake bleeder and a few of my dad's old tools like screwdrivers and multimeter, it's all about what you're comfortable using
saw the aldi kit and had a look earlier, the handles on a lot of the tools don't feel very comfortable, and the smaller sockets look very...questionable, was very tempted on their arc welder for £39 though...lol
as far as toolkits go, i'm going to be replacing mine fairly shortly as it's really not up to the job (stanley fatmax roll case)
