IMHO just get two x30d lifters off ebay or maybe off a Range Rover, there's a few on there for 99p atm and grab a swirl pot, they aren't much money, sack off the crappy stock fuel filter which would easily save you a massive quantity of space... Place an inline fuel filter under the rear of the car...
If you can, go to a breakers and find something with a spinon fuel filter, put that under the boot floor... I rekon a twin lift pump setup could be done for sub £50 - that'd solve IMHO any fuel issues that HDis are having currently - then you can put all your concentration into the HP side - the LP side is sorted, currently I don't think I've seen any HDi actually know they aren't having LP issues, I've never seen a HDi that runs more than 160hp that doesn't have cutting out issues under full load...
