after my weekend away at mg live 2013, and chatting to the ex works mg rover engineer, about the engine I have in the car.
He said the best air filter to use is ITG, all the cars in the team had the more advanced more expensive ones, plus they may gave been too big fit into the space I have in the metro.
He mentioned if I can get hold of the air box from a ZR 160 that would be well worth upgrade. Laugh is I have one in the car already.
so this came in the post two mins ago.

then headed out side in the wet,
opened my 160 airbox

note the shitty K&N that was nicked from a R25 when I got air box.

done its job but I think its had it, not bad for a five finger discount.

replacement in, notice the size difference, as the one I had in was a little smaller,

now I have one of these in the HDI and I did notice a difference in the ITG one over the K&N one in,
I seem to have little more power up the rev range and pulls a little more.
With this engine, it will love this air filter as these love to breath. I may take out for a drive sometime today or next week.
