Guide: Replacing gear linkage bush

Did it make much of a difference just changing the bush?

Do you think you could rotate the ball 45 degrees so the less worn part of the ball is in contact with the bush?

Yes its made a big difference. Slightly less play and the change is alot smoother. Also feels like it goes into gear easier.

No, you couldnt rotate the ball. Its a plastic ball moulded onto the end of a metal arm. you could try and find a ball the same diameter and drill a hole and glue it onto the arm.
